When I look at this painting, I can’t help but think of simpler times. When life moved a little slower, the days felt a little longer, and there wasn’t so much noise competing for our attention.
There’s something comforting about that winding dirt road leading to a little cabin tucked into the mountains. The trees look as though they’re moving in the cool autumn wind, and I can almost smell the grass in the pasture. I imagine a fire burning in an old woodstove inside, making that little cabin feel even more like home.
It’s the kind of place that makes me want to slow down and stay awhile. No rush to be anywhere, no need to fill every quiet moment. Just the beauty of an ordinary day and the comfort of life’s simplest pleasures.
I think that’s what I love most about this painting. It reminds me of a feeling that’s easy to lose in today’s world.
And that’s how Before the Noise got its name.
